CEMADEN & ICT/Unifesp

LS is a Titular Researcher at the National Center for Monitoring and Early Warning of Natural Disasters (CEMADEN) and a Collaborating Professor at the Post-graduate Program in Computer Science at UNIFESP. Bachelor in Physics from the Federal University of Bahia (2008), and Ph.D. in Applied Computing from INPE (2014). Visiting Professor at Humboldt University (Germany, 2020). His research focuses on creating risk scenarios considering hazards and vulnerabilities. He developed the concept of (geo)graph, which has applications in meteorology, transport networks, and urban mobility. LS represented Brazil at the BRICS Forum of Young Researchers for their work on AI in Hydrological Modeling. He has ~30 full journal papers and ~600 citations (h index 13, i10 17). LS has collaborators and has been invited to lectures at institutions in the country and abroad. He is interested in scientific research, technological development, and scientific dissemination.
